1 A Psalm of Asaph. God presides in the divine assembly; He renders judgment among the gods: 2 “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah 3 Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; uphold the rights of the afflicted and oppressed. 4 Rescue the weak and needy; save them from the hand of the wicked.
12 I know that the LORD upholds justice for the poor and defends the cause of the needy.

You will incline Your ear, 18 to vindicate the fatherless and oppressed, that the men of the earth may strike terror no more.
5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, 6 the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He remains faithful forever. 7 He executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free, 8 the LORD opens the eyes of the blind, the LORD lifts those who are weighed down, the LORD loves the righteous. 9 The LORD protects foreigners; He sustains the fatherless and the widow, but the ways of the wicked He frustrates.
15 God rescues the afflicted by their affliction and opens their ears in oppression.
5 “For the cause of the oppressed and for the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,” says the LORD. “I will bring safety to him who yearns.”
11 For your power stands not in numbers, nor your might in strong men, but you are a God of the afflicted. You are a helper of the oppressed, a helper of the weak, a protector of the forsaken, a savior of those who are without hope. (WEB)

4 For You have upheld my just cause; You sit on Your throne judging righteously. 5 You have rebuked the nations; You have destroyed the wicked; You have erased their name forever and ever. 6 The enemy has come to eternal ruin, and You have uprooted their cities; the very memory of them has vanished. 7 But the LORD abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment. 8 He judges the world with justice; He governs the people with equity. 9 The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. 10 Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You. 11 Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion; proclaim His deeds among the nations. 12 For the Avenger of bloodshed remembers; He does not ignore the cry of the afflicted. 13 Be merciful to me, O LORD; see how my enemies afflict me!
